A French silver and cut-crystal jam box decorated with octagonal patterns in relief resting on four dolphins. The handles finely chiseled with acanthus leaves, twisted patterns and flowers extend in the lower part with circumscribed palmettes, an ancient motif widespread in the first half of the nineteenth century. The removable lid hemmed with a frieze of small pearls is summoned by a wreath of laurel leaves and flowers that form the plug. The jam box rests on a round base and a square pedestal finely chiseled with bouquets of roses and small flowers. Four claw feet on balls adorn the corners. Master silversmith CAL for LENGLET. Cérès and Michel-Ange mark (1819-1838), Paris.
