a rare & beautiful 230 year old antique longcase grandfather clock. c1790

A Rare & Beautiful 230 Year Old Georgian Antique Long case Grandfather Clock made to a lovely standard. Made in England during the reign of King George III in around 1790 by clock maker T Mear of Dursley. The hood with swan neck pediment and later gilt eagle on ball finial and turned column supports flanking the glazed door. The long cabinet with panelled door, brass handle, canted edges and raised on a bracket feet. The case has been later ebonised and overhauled. A wonderful painted and enamelled dual signed T Mear, Dursley with painted Arabic numerals, date aperture, and ebonised case.

A true Antique, made to wonderful portions. It would stand proud in any room.

The cabinet is in a lovely condition and it appear and incredible amount of care and restoration has been take to make it look almost new. A stunning piece of British history that was an essential in every wealthy household. Worth buying even just as an investment or store of wealth.
The clock has a 30 hour movement that has been meticulously overhauled.

This clock is in excellent working order and keeps excellent time. The movement and workings are nearly 200 years old, yet look almost new after being overhauled.
