The capital which surmounts this architecture is enhanced by two cornucopias in chiseled gilt bronze which meet above the dial.A triangular pediment in blue Turquin marble which crowns the whole is decorated by two palmettes with in the center a gorgons head in gilt bronze.The white enamel dial circled in gilt bronze is decorated with finely chiseled gilt hands. A majestic drapery unfolds under the dial and the pendulum in the shape of a radiant solar disk completes the composition.
