A late 17th to early 18th century oak dower chest. The chest has fielded panels front and back with a pegged frame. The front and back stiles run through to the legs, the front legs have shaped corner brackets. The sides have a single recessed panel with a moulded top and bottom rail. The lid has side batons, ring hinges and three later batons to give added strength. The chest is well made and in good condition with a wax polish finish.
