the vintage 1980 9ct gold opal and emerald cluster ring

This is a real vintage statement piece. 12 bright bluish green emeralds sit proudly, spaced by white opals with a subtle and stunning play of colour. The opals display tones of blue, pink, yellow and red, flashing when hit by the light and dancing within their settings. The stones are claw set in a high gallery that protrudes off the finger, allowing lots of light to flow through the ring and hit the stones from every angle. Though the gallery sits high, the piece is still comfortable on the finger, with the head covering most of the width of the finger when worn for maximum impact.
The head of the ring is framed wonderfully by slim, neat shoulders that slope down to join a plain, polished band. The band and settings are a lovely shade of light golden yellow, and the band's simplicity draws the eye to what sits within it - a clearly stamped hallmark. Here we see the instantly recognisable leopard's head, the mark of the Assay Office of London, to the left of a date letter 'F' for the year 1980. Sat in front of these, the maker's mark 'SJ', next to a crown and the numbers '375', confirming that this ring is crafted from 9ct gold.
