the antique victorian 1896 garnet, emerald and pearl star ring

An elaborate and detailed Victorian ring, studded with juicy gemstones and finished with a pearl-studded star. This gorgeous ring holds a host of gemstones, surrounding a beautiful garnet at its centre, featuring an inlaid gold star. At the centre of the star, a lustrous cream pearl completes the celestial centrepiece. The garnet is a purplish red colour, possibly with silver or foil backing to enhance its ethereal look.
Four bright green round mixed-cut emeralds sit around the garnet, vibrant and eye-catching, with three cream half pearls between them on either side of the ring, plus dainty gold beads for embellishment. All stones are claw set and well held, though the settings show slight wear, as expected after over 130 years of wear. Two additional bright green emeralds terminate each side of the gemstone-filled head, and gold wire detailing scrolls to form the gallery of the piece.
The head is framed by intricately engraved shoulders with floral, swirling designs within a line border, making this ring stunning from any angle. The shoulders gently slope into a yellow gold band that continues the engraving and detailing, which still looks freshly engraved and beautiful. Inside the band, a clear hallmark -this ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 15ct gold in 1896. Next to the hallmark, a maker's mark, reading 'W.A'. A wonderful and quintessentially Victorian piece, loaded with gems and beautifully crafted.
