An exceptional opportunity to acquire a charming pair of high-Victorian novelty pepper shakers, expertly fashioned in the form of miniature pillar letterboxes (c. 1880). These shakers are excellent examples of the intricate, whimsical dining ware popular during the late 19th century.

Constructed from silver plate, each shaker stands 5cm high with a 3cm base diameter. The design features remarkably sharp detail, including the original perforated domed tops for dispensing, small functional integrated handles/loops on the side, and the curved top panel clearly bearing the embossed text: LETTER BOX.Condition: Genuine antique condition, with appropriate age-related patina and tarnish to the silver plate, emphasizing their 140-year history.
