japanese antique lacquer and inlaid incense kogo box, rinpa school.

A Japanese antique wooden kogo- incense box with lacquer and mother of pearl decoration and a pewter rim with nashiji lacquer to the inside and outer surface.18/19 century.

The box is typical Rinpa school workmanship or influenced by the school with a design of a crane or egret perched upon a moored boat.Measurements 7 cm x 2.2 cm.Condition The box has no damage but clearly has seen many years of use and shows wear to both the base and edges.
