ITEM 1110 DESCRIPTION
Antique Victorian oblong-shaped and hinged silver 'castle-top' card case. The front side is die-stamped with a view of Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott from 1811 until his death in 1832. The reverse and side-hinge cover are decorated with scrolling foliage and strap-work surrounding a vacant shield-shaped cartouche. Birmingham made by Gervase Wheeler. Circa 1837 or 1839.
