Circa 1835, a William IV mahogany circular wine coaster. The coaster has several different mouldings as the concentric mouldings get smaller. The centre has a polished flame mahogany section, and underneath is an unusual combination of three squat bun feet with space between them. There are three brass castors with leather wheels. The leather wheels were used to ensure that when the decanter of wine was moved around, no markings were left on the table or other surfaces. Some scratch lines can also be seen towards the edge of the coaster. A nice, clean piece of dining furniture.
