You are viewing an incredible pair of bronze Scottish stags. They are a perfect left and right and would be just the sort of creature you'd find at emerging from the mist in a glen. I hope the photos accurately convey the quality and beauty to the casting. Features like the texture to the main, and the finely detailed coat are particularly worthy of note. The artist has also really caught the expression on the stags face with skill. They each stand on a little rocky outcrop. These would make for a great piece for your home or garden, perhaps at your gates at the top of your entrance. They are both offered in perfect condition ready for home use right away and we are expecting a lot of interest so get your bids in early. This piece has been made using the lost wax technique. The original model would have been made using clay or plaster. Over this a thin layer of wax would have been covered and then around this more clay. This would then be put in the oven and the wax would melt creating the space for the molten bronze to be poured into, once this had set the clay could be broken away and you would be left with the bronze casting. Hence the wax is lost in the process. It's is the oldest and most timely method of creating bronze sculptures and figurines.
