Merchant Naval Clipper "Panay", a three mast vessel flying the Red Ensign in full sail cuting through choppy seas.

The painting is a good detailed example which accurately depicts all the rigging with flags.While the majority of the clipper ships sailed under the British and American flags,more than a hundred clippers were built in the Netherlands.
These ships were medium-clippers rather than the large extreme-clippers and were involved in the merchant trading of goods between continents often carrying tea and other consumable commodities.The painting is on wooden panel and bears the signature C.Morgan.Presented in a good solid hand crafted oak frame with gold coloured inner slip.CONDITION
