This is a fine pair of huge larger than life size bronze Roman soldiersdatingfrom the last quarter of the20thcentury.
One warrior is holding a spear, the other wields a sword and they appear to be ready for battle.
The armour is beautifully decorated with mythological emblems as are the plumed helmets.
Each bronze is signed "Lesaro" on the base.
A rare oppotunity to purchase a fabulous pair of life size bronzes.
These are made from solid bronze and were hot cast using the traditional 'lost wax' process, so they are incredibly heavy.

Lost Wax Method
sometimes called by the French name of cire perdue or the Latin, cera perduta is the process by which a bronze or brass is cast from an artists sculpture. In industrial uses, the modern process is called investment casting. An ancient practice, the process today varies from foundry to foundry, but the steps which are usually used in casting small bronze sculptures in a modern bronze foundry are generally quite standardised.
