Early Victorian solid brass footman. In effect a very large trivet and originally used for warming plates/dishes etc in front of an open fire. This example has a highly decorated scalloped frieze and large decorated cabriole front legs with narrower legs to the rear. Very solid, no damage or old repairs, patina commensurate with age.
