    Antique Large Victorian Silver Plated Fruit Dish c1900

    A superb example of a late Victorian electroplated nickel-silver fruit display dish.
    Of extremely high quality, this substantially heavy piece of antique silver plate has been made in a rather neutral style with applied beading to the outer edge finished into the shape of an English Tudor rose.
    The dropping handle is a much favoured addition by the Victorians and this ones decoration follows along the lines of the outer beading, as does the base on which it is supported.

     
    Made by Mappin & Webb in London or Sheffield and bearing their Prince's Plate Triple Deposit trademark used from c1887 until c1910.
