A Regency period gilt pier mirror of large size. The mirror is of typical Neoclassical form with cluster columns to the sides, a pediment of architectural design with applied spheres. The central freise has a bronzed effect with verdi gris colouring which is most unusual. The mirror has a dramatic ebonised slip and the original bevelled mirror plate. The mirror has a great faded country house look with rubbing to the gilding and a very dark discoloured plate, there is a certain 'Miss Haversham' quality to it. The mirror is in fundamentally great condition just faded by time. C.1830.
