A mystery watch chain that has been converted to wear as a necklace, consisting of 11 rectangular sections stamped with year dates from 1906 to 1919, three years 1909,1912,1916 missing or omitted, lost or removed. All Birmingham hall-marked silver, but bearing three different maker's marks- two by Elkington & Co, the remainder by W.M.Dowling & Sons, and an unidentified maker V&S. Each link is engraved on the back 69030. I have no idea what this means! The necklace, as it now is, is 15 1/4 inches: 39 cms so will fit the average female neck.
