elegant billiard cue stand by thurston c1860

A beautiful example of a rare and elegant carousel Billiard cue stand in walnut, made c1860 by Thurston of London. The circular raised base stands upon three swept feet terminating in brass caps & casters. It has space for 30 cues which are lifted & then lowered to release, together with 6 maces or rest sticks and is in fine condition. It revolves freely. The top finial is most rare & unusual in that it has a concave recess for the keeping of chalk. We have an extensive stock of period cues & rests and so will supply 12 such items in order to complement & partly fill the spaces in the rack.
