Circa 1850. An early Victorian carved oak free standing dinner gong. The circular stand surmounted by an elegant finial with a circular plamished bronze gong hanging in the centre. The circular top with canted corners with beadings separating each section, all resting on a stylish and bulbous stem, issuing three carved hipped cabriole legs with foliate carving on the tops, finishing on a well curled foot.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
