antique mother of pearl inlaid writing slope reduced!

A superb quality antique writing slope, circa 1830, it’s in a beautiful Rosewood veneer, inlaid with stunning mother of pearl, which has been banded in black ebony, the brass furniture on the slope is the best I have ever seen, intricately inlaid by a master craftsman. The insides of the box are made from an exotic redwood, one lid inside is lattice banded for letters.
The other side has the pen/quill holder and two small rebated areas one possibly to hold an ink well, the other for paper clips, stamps etc, this one has a unique pop out slide that when pressed hides a recessed spring loaded mechanism, that once pressed, releases an internal panel that reveals two tiny little secret drawers with tiny little brass knobs, well and truly a masterpiece of carpentry/furniture making excellence! Once returned to its original condition you would never know it’s there…
The box comes with its original key and locking mechanism, on the underside it has the original green felt (all intact but thread bear from many years of use).
The condition of the box is very good considering its age. There has been some sympathetic restoration where parts of the mother of pearl inlay has been lost. The leather inlay has also had some of it replaced on the spinal hinge section in the center, (a high wear area again over many years).
There is some splitting on the internal panels which is to be expected with such an old item, this does not affect the visual look or the construction of the slope and it’s all internal, so cannot be easily seen.
This box represents the finest made in its time period; as such they are becoming increasingly hard to source.
I have only managed to find one very similar on an internet search (and one only) it was sold by Walton house antiques some time ago for £750. The link is below.
