antique silver plated & engraved glass comport centerpiece 19th century

This is a fabulous antique English silver-plated and engraved glass table centre comport, dated with the registration lozenge for 10thSeptember1854.

The circular saucer-shaped glass bowl is superbly etched with fruiting wine within leaf-shaped reserves and has a deep star cut base.The pedestal is centred by a spherical knop which is chased and engraved with a band of flowerheads, the base is cast with adownsweptband of acanthus leaves aboveoutswepttrefoil-capped scroll feet cast with anthemions, lozenge and dogtooth bands.It is a lovely piece which will look beautiful on your dining table.Condition:In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs, please see photos for confirmation.Dimensions in cm:Height 28 x Width 26 x Depth 26Dimensions in inches:Height 11 inches x Width 10 inches x Depth 10 inches
