Mid 19th century Anglo-Indian Vizagapatam carved sandalwood box with micro-mosaic inlays and edged in bone. Very finely carved raised panels depicting woodland scenery. Sadeli inlays of ebony, pewter and bone. Solid sandalwood interior. External maximum dimensions are 31.5 cm in width, 13.5 cm in depth and 9 cm height.
Raised carved panels are in very good condition commensurate with age. Interior and carcass are solid and in excellent condition. Historical repairs to the sadeli inlays as seen in images. Remains a very attractive item. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
