Antique turned and carved bone chess set in the barleycorn design popular in the early to mid 19th century. The chess set is housed in a 19th century rosewood box inlaid with mother-of-pearl and pewter. The rosewood box has been relined in black velvet. Natural (white) and stained (red) bone pieces.
This is a complete set with no replacement pieces. King measures 11 cm, pawn measure 4 cm. Box measures 25 x 9.5 x 17 cm.
The set is complete with no replacement pieces. Pieces are in very good condition with very minor signs of age and use. Images clearly show condition - please contact us if further images are required. Rosewood box in very good condition. Commensurate with age and with no inlay losses.
