An impressive 19th Cent longcase clock with a musical movement with what I think is Whittington chimes playing on a carillon of 8 bells and striking the hours on an additional bell.
The case is in nicely figured mahogany with brass fluted columns to the hood and trunk. The hood has finely fretted panels to the sides and the pagoda top. It also has a pair of fine cast brass finials. Both trunk and hood doors have working locks and keys.
The clock has a very smart brass dial with silvered chapter ring and subsidiary seconds dial. The dial is signed for James Stevens of London but as is common with most of these musical clocks the movement probably dates from the late 19th Cent.
The case is in good condition and the movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
The maximum dimensions are:
244cm (96") high
50cm (20") wide
25cm (10") deep
