    • unicorn antiques

If you like an old-fashioned Aladdin's cave type of shop, this is for you. It's about 10 minutes walk and a world away from Princes Street, tucked into a basement that was an old dairy until the present proprietor moved in, over 40 years ago. The Victorian tiled floors and walls, and marble shelves are still there.
We stock everything and anything that is old, curious or useful, for as long as it takes for someone to spot an item's potential. As a result, space can be a problem, so nimble browsers are particularly welcome. If you are coming down Dundas Street from Princes Street the shop is half-way down on the right hand side, between Great King Street and Cumberland Street - look out for the white unicorn sign. Dundas Street is worth visiting as there are several other antique shops in the area, as well as a number of art galleries.

    • wadebridge antique centre

The Wadebridge Antique Centre opened it's doors at the beginning of 2016, having moved from Parr. Alex the owner has been dealing in antiques for nearly fifty years and also runs the very successful Antiques Fairs Cornwall (AFC). The centre has a team of traders covering a wide and interesting range of expertise. Many items are fresh from local houses, we are happy to value and purchase items that are no longer needed or wanted, please just contact us. If you can not find what you are looking for we will find that elusive piece. To help buy there are different payment options, we even offer Gift Vouchers.
The large building in the centre of Wadebridge, formally Ayers Garage, provided a fantastic location for the business. The town is full of wonderful independent specialist shops and superb eateries that will complete a great day out. The centre sits beside the Camel Trail making a great stop off for walkers and cyclists.
The centre houses an eclectic ensemble of pieces, all traditional antiques or vintage items. We do not not stock or sell any reproduction furniture, only honest original things that can be rare, decorative and quirky in nature at affordable prices. The furniture ranges from ancient country pieces to formal, to delightful arts and crafts or aesthetic movement and beyond. The garden section offers granite benches, troughs, straddle stones, decorative urns, pots, statues and cartwheels. Alex loves to reflect her heritage by offering fairground memorabilia in the nostalgic form of hand painted signs, fairground horses, slot machines and much more.
The jewellery covers every age, style and taste for both ladies and their gentleman. There is both fine and costume jewellery, antique and vintage, precious metals and stones, charming and stylish costume pieces. There are pocket, cocktail and wrist watches, Albert chains and Albertinas.
From one extreme to the other, we offer a good range of militaria, one of our experts specialises in edged weapons, but alongside, he has items to offer from conflicts across time and continents. Another dealer has a vast collection of glass ware and wine related items and memorabilia.
We are very lucky to have a resident clock restorer, who will repair clocks here or perhaps visit your home, usually within the week. This service starts around £35, please ask for more details.
Alex's reaction on first site visit with the estate agent:
'Wow! I love a challenge!' Followed quickly by, 'I want it!'
This was, no messing, exactly what she wanted, with a team of friends and builders the derelict garage was transformed. The fairground pillars painted with lots of gold added, (another nod to her fairground heritage, she had books of gold leaf from her dads days as a sign painter for the show people).
      Comments from her friends:
      Gerald: 'Very brave!'
Alan: 'you are mad, but it'll be great'
Brian the builder: 'Your off your head! why take on such a mammoth task?'
      ?
Alex didn't see it as that! She saw a red carpeted warm friendly buzzing smart Antique Centre through all the grime, oil & dirt.
      ?
Alex herself has said 'Yes it has been a challenge, still is, one I am very much enjoying. I couldn't have done it with out the help of my friends: Nick, Nigel, Helen, Dickie, John, David, Gerald, Kieth, Simon & Mitchell with Neno, James and Jake. Not to mention my amazing landlord who has been so helpful'.

      Jubilee Rd, Wadebridge PL27 7AT

    • waterside antiques centre

Waterside Antiques was established in 1986 by Graham Peters who owned it until 2005 when his son Tom Peters took over. I have been interested in antiques most of my life. I started restoring furniture for my father at the age of ten; from then on my interest grew from restoring to collecting, then dealing. I have a keen interest and deal in anything old or collectible.
The centre’s huge success is largely down to the friendly and honest service that has been provided since it was opened in 1986. Originally built as a malting's in the late 1760s, the building has had many uses since, including as a morgue during the Second World War (we do have a resident ghost).
Waterside Antiques is the largest antiques centre in East Anglia; it has a floor space of 10,000 square feet with more than 65 antiques dealers. There are 20 free parking spaces immediately outside the centre with a further 100 free spaces less than 150 yards away.
Waterside Antiques stock items to suit all needs and pockets from Wade figures to 10ft high Armoires.
