the antique edwardian 1904 three opal and diamond ring

This ring, circa the mid-Edwardian era, features three oval opal cabochons with a wonderful, captivating play of colour. The fine opals, with a white body colour, display blues and greens, with some flashes of pinkish orange when the light hits the stones, creating a mesmerising display. Totalling 0.81cts, the opals capture your attention as they flicker and glow, complemented by the old European cut diamonds used as spacers between them. The ring holds six old European cut diamonds in total, three either side of the central stone. Assessed as G-H in colour, they are bright and lively, adding extra flair and sparkle to this fantastic piece, held by yellow gold claws that allow light to hit this ring from all of the necessary angles.
The shoulders of this ring frame the head and gently slope into a plain, polished band, minimal in its design, letting the gemstones grab all of the attention. Inside the band is the hallmark, put there by the Assay Office of Birmingham. The band is hallmarked for 18ct gold in 1904/1905, as we can clearly summarise from the crisp 'e' date letter. A wonderful piece for day or night.
