This fantastic and showstopping cluster ring, circa the Art Deco era, holds 0.84ct of diamond total, a host of dazzling transitional brilliant-cut diamonds that have a wonderful brilliance and fire to them. The central stone is the largest, held by white metal claws, complementing the diamond further and bringing more life to the stone, assessed as G-H in colour. Surrounding the central stone are eight more transitional brilliant-cut diamonds, making up this ring's cluster formation, an eye-catching and glamorous design. The diamonds are well cut with crisp facets that allow light to refract wonderfully, making these stones particularly lively, while the open white metal gallery allows light to flow through the ring with ease, hitting the diamonds from every angle. Flanking the head, a further diamond sits brightly, leading is to the contrasting yellow gold shoulders and band.
Transitional brilliant cut diamonds bridge the gap between old European cuts and modern round brilliants. Dating from the 1920s to 1940s, they have a rounder shape, larger table and smaller culet than earlier antique cuts. Their shape creates a lively sparkle while still keeping the warmth and character of an older cut. Cut during the shift from hand to early machines, each diamond has its own unique personality.
The shoulders are knife-edged, gradually transitioning into a yellow gold band with a plain, polished finish. Inside the band are three separate stamps. The first reads '8097', the second '18ct' and the third 'AT'. The '18ct' stamp indicates the carat of the gold, which has been electronically tested and assessed as 18ct gold. A fabulous dress ring, engagement ring or a dazzling addition to your jewellery box or ring stack.
