masonic cuff links 14k gold

These excellent cuff links are made from 14 carat gold, and have a purple stone in the centre. Each cuff link has a swivel back, which is also stamped, although these marks are rubbed. The front of the cuff link shows a shaped gold mount, with 4 small clasps. These clasps hold the centre purple stone, that is shaped with rounded chamfered edges. No cracks or chips to either stone can be detected. On top of this stone, is the masonic symbol of the square and compass. There is also a capital G in the centre of this piece.

The reverse of the cuff link is of plain design. The gold surround does not have any decoration as the front does display. The stone is firmly held into place by the retaining clips at the front and a "seat" at the rear. The stone is still visible from the back. There appears to be a steeper cut to the rear of the stone, which may have something to do with the light reflection. The swivels to both links are in fine working order. They are securely fixed to the cuff links and are both stamped. On one link the marks of .585 and makers mark of M G can easily be identified, along with 14K on the other side of the link. The second cuff link has 14K and the makers mark M G reasonably identifiable. The opposite side is a mark, although this is relatively rubbed.These very well made items come in a box, that also has the makers name on the underside. It is from MANCHU GEMS LTD. KOWLOON HONG KONG. The hinges to the box, along with the closing catch work perfectly well. The inside is of cream material, with 2 individual lugs for the cuff links to sit. The outside of the box is of red material, and there does not appear to be any damage to it. It has been suggested that these items may be for the Scottish Masonic groups, although that is not officially confirmed.The dimensions of the cuff links are as follows,
