Jenny Lind was a Swedish opera singer who was nicknamed 'The Swedish Nightingale', she was particularly popular in Sweden and northern European countries, she also became very popular in the United States after touring the country in 1850 at the invitation of PT Barnum, later in her career she was a professor of singing at the Royal College of Music in London, 1800.
