Ferdinand Tietz was sculptor at the court of five princes-bishops : the courts of Bamberg (1749-1784), Würzburg (1736-1754), Trier 1 , from 1754, then Spiers and Cologne . He returned to the court of Bamberg from 1760. He served six successive bishops, three of them from the Schönborn family .
Many of his works can be seen in the museums of Nuremberg and Würzburg, ten statues in the chapel of the castle of Malberg , statues of the rose garden of Bamberg , and two sculptures in the garden of the Apothecary Museum in Bad Münstereifel .
The statues of the park of the castle of Veitshöchheim (1763-1768) and Seehof Castle (1762-1768) are considered as his masterpieces.
