A 19th Century erotic Tobacco box by Johann Paul Hahn. A truly fascinating box depicting an erotic embrace between two lovers! The box is numbered however I have personally never come across this design before. The design appears to have been printed and coloured in by hand.The box is offered in fair used condition, the scent of tobacco is still very much present inside. Clearly a previous owner wasn't afraid to use the box! The exterior has suffered damages to each corner, there is a surface crack to the rear side with a chip present. There are also some chips and scratches to the interior. Overall the box is still structurally stable. Despite the above noted imperfections the print has survived remarkably well, there are some surface scratches however no major loses with the design still very clear and vivid.Undisputedly an extremely rare and irreplaceable piece of secretive history.
