Being I.I. Shishkin’s apprentice S.F. Fedorov adopted to a significant degree his teacher’s manner and passion for depicting forest landscapes. At the same time he developed his own manner of painting discovering his individuality as a landscape painter. S.F. Fedorov’s works were exhibited in 1890-s and 1900-s at painting exhibitions in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. A posthumous exhibition of the painter’s works took place in Saint Petersburg in 1910.
