victorian walnut document box

A 19th century Victorian figured walnut and burr walnut document or cutlery box. This high quality box has a carved and shaped lid with a large oval burr walnut centre panel that has brass inlay. The box sides are 'bombe' shaped and the interior is lined in green baize. This very well made box is in good condition, has a working lock and key and a Victorian registration kitemark on the front of the lid for March 1865.
