Circa 1920, quality walnut circular dining table with four concentric leaves with the makers label underneath for W. Charles Tozer, London. Tozer was a retailer of high quality revivalist furniture although seems to have specialised in walnut pieces in the early 18th century style and was established at 25 Brook Street London from the early 20th century and traded into the 1960s.
The top of the table has matching walnut veneers with 12 segmented divisions, and a crossbanded fore edge with a half round moulding beneath. There is an apron with matching veneers and within this are eight pull out segments to hold the extra leaves. The table stands on four carved cabriole legs, the top with a raised foliate carving and the legs finish in stylish pad feet. Each of the leaves are segmented similar to the top and have another crossbanded and moulded edge. On the underside of the leaves are slides, 3 brass clips for locking in position and traditional brass U clips. The table is very versatile, has wonderful colour and excellent condition.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
