Circa 1890, late Victorian oak four door cabinet bookcase. The bookcase has a stylish classic cornice with ogee mouldings, dentil decoration over a deep apron and beadings. Below this are four arched glazed doors with carved motifs at the top. Each door has bevelled edge glass. Inside there are 6 adjustable shelves running the full length of the top. The doors are held in place by 3 hinges and have the original locks and keys. Below this is a small step out moulding and flat surface, and the base has four further doors the same shape as the top with fielded panels. Beneath the bottom doors is chamfered edge and whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth. Top quality, clean, sturdy and functional.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
