A Pair of Oak Arts & Crafts Period Side or Hall Chairs

An unusual pair of oak side or hall chairs from around 1890-1910 in the Arts & Crafts tradition but with the sinuous styling of the Art Nouveau, with splats that are pierced with serpentine flame or leaf motifs, matched in the back-rest and in the finials that cap the uprights, over tan leather seats with bull-nose studs, on square sabre-shaped rear legs and tapering square front legs, united by plain stretchers, these stylish seats will charm in any elegant reception hall or living room, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in design, fully-deserving of the appreciative attention they will undoubtedly attract.

    Max. Width at Seat 41.5cm x Depth 45.5cm (16.25" x 18")
    O/All Height 103.5cm (40.75") & Height to Seat 45.5cm (18")

These chairs date from around the turn of the 20thC, so you may expect wear & tear commensurate with age & normal use, together with secure repairs from the past but, otherwise, they are in very good, clean & sound condition and are ready to use in your home.
