An unusual pair of oak side or hall chairs from around 1890-1910 in the Arts & Crafts tradition but with the sinuous styling of the Art Nouveau, with splats that are pierced with serpentine flame or leaf motifs, matched in the back-rest and in the finials that cap the uprights, over tan leather seats with bull-nose studs, on square sabre-shaped rear legs and tapering square front legs, united by plain stretchers, these stylish seats will charm in any elegant reception hall or living room, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in design, fully-deserving of the appreciative attention they will undoubtedly attract.Max.
