    19thC Mahogany Gentleman's Lift-Over Caddy Top Nightstand

A great mahogany piece from around 1820-40, converted later in life and now restored, so in very good condition, with side-hinged lift-over caddy top, opening to reveal a level surface with thumb-moulding to all four sides, over a generous cabinet with front-opening doors and brass roundel knob, over one shallow and one deep drawer with circular brass plates and teardrop pull-handles, all on tapering square legs, this fine example of a gentleman's nightstand is both stylish & immensely practical and will impress in the most elegant of homes, whether period-furnished or more contemporary in taste, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will undoubtedly attract.

    Width with Top Closed 55.75cm x Depth 55.75cm (22" x 22")
    Width with Top Open 110.5cm x Depth 55.75cm (43.5" x 22")
    Height when Closed 88cm (c34.75") & Height when Open 83cm (c32.75")

This piece dates from the first half of the 19thC, so you might expect the mature character & patina of age, together with wear & tear commensurate with normal use but, now professionally & sympathetically restored, it's in very good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
