      Our Stock # 24452This is an antique London police whistle. An English, silvered brass patented whistle by J Hudson and Co of Birmingham, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920.J. Hudson & Co is a long established and ongoing manufacturer of whistles under the ACME name. Holding several patents, in 1884 Hudson created a pea whistle to help policemen with their alerts, as rattles were not able to produce enough noise. A demonstration at Scotland Yard gained the company its first contract.
