A Pair of Classical Ladies Sculptures by August Moreau. 1834-1917 He was born in Dijon,the third son of Jean-Baptiste Moreau and was a sculptor alongside his brothers,Hippolyte and Mathur. His debut at the Salon in France was in 1862 where he exhibited regularly until 1913. He specialized in sculptures of men and women and cherubs all in a naturalistic ,elegant and classical style. The sculptures are mounted on round Sienna marble bases and are in pristine condition with a lovely greenish patina characteristic of the 1900's The figures are 50 cm high (Or 20 inches) Postage in the UK is £25.00
