Antique Georgian Mahogany Partners Desk

An impressive Antique Georgian Mahogany Partners Desk dating from the early part of the 19thC. Excellent colour with beautiful tooled dark green leather writing surface inset into moulded top. Front has three frieze drawers and three drawers to each pedestal. Plinths to each pedestal. Reverse side has two shelved cupboards and three frieze drawers. Excellent "lions head" handles to each drawer - probably Victorian replacements but of very good quality. Handcut dovetails and dust mouldings to all drawers. Cockbeading to drawer fronts. Brass lever locks with keys - some locks original - some later Victorian replacements - all with keys. Original brass escutcheons. Concealed brass wheeled castors and three piece construction. Top quality early desk in excellent condition. This desk bears paper labels and ink stamps indicating that the desk was once sold by the firm of Webb of Grays Inn Road, London. Webb were antique and second hand office furniture dealers in the late 1800's.
