    Antique French Burr Elm Folding Games Table 19th Century

     
    This beautifully figured burr elm games table features quarter-matched burr elm veneer panels to the top and underside playing surface.
     
    It has a beaded moulded outer edge with a full-width drawer below the opened / extended top. The drawer supports one side of the table top.
     
    The games table stands on bulbous bobbin-turned legs with distinctive grain patterning.
     
    With a newly laid baize it is perfect for playing an assortment of card or other games.
     
    The piece has been checked over, cleaned and professionally re-waxed by our restorer. Overall in very good condition and the elm has an outstanding mellow colouration and pleasing patina.

The couple enjoy days out sourcing antique mirrors, antique lighting,  antique furniture and a wide range of antique decorative objects from wonderful old French country houses, châteaux, antique stores and antique brocantes. An experienced and successful restorer of any antique and antique collectables , Derek appreciates antique furniture and has a good eye for unusual and rare finds as well as the occasional quirky piece. Complemented by Bea’s design experience and love of all things Art Deco and Art Nouveau, the range is continuously influenced by their independent approaches and tastes as well as mutual appreciation of antique French antique furniture, history and design. Derek and Bea personally select each piece, which is carefully inspected to ensure quality construction, age, style and material followed by any necessary cleaning, repairs and restoration so that pieces are offered in excellent condition. They sell principally online and distribute from a store in Kent and southwest France. As an online store, viewing in person is unfortunately not an option.
