Circa 1815. A Regency mahogany sarcophagus shaped tea caddy. The large caddy with rosewood panel on the top and tapering sections intersected with boxwood and ebony inlay, lovely broad cross banding and deep lid, the interior with two divisions, each with removable satinwood and crossbanded lids with ebony turned handles. The front with stylish heraldic shaped bone escutcheon, with a pair of lifting handles on the side supported by lion heads. All resting on four cast brass animal paw feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981.
