    Hampton Antiques have the pleasure of selling this fine Georgian Urn Tea Caddy. Made of Cuban Mahogany, it has polychrome decoration and white & green foliage around the lid's edge and top edge of the caddy. The urn body and dome of the lid are beautifully painted in a 'trompe l'oeil' style to simulate fluted sides. The top has a delicately-carved Ivory fluted finial. A superb, unique piece which was once exhibited at the BADA and Christies Art Treasures Exhibition in 1932.

    Rare portrait of Vice Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson, signed Lemuel Francis Abbott C1760-1802 (16 X 20)

    A rare chance to acquire an oil on canvas laid down on board of the famous vice admiral of the fleet "Lord Nelson"

    Famous for his role in the Napoleonic wars and especially "The battle of Trafalgar" in which he lost his life, after the famous victory in 1805.
    He became a national hero and received a state funeral Nelsons Column Monument stands in Trafalgar Square in London.
    The portrait is after the studio of artist Lemuel Francis Abbott, whose signature is visible in the bottom right margin of the portrait.

    There is an identical portrait which hangs in 10 Downing Street and a larger example hangs in the National Gallery London.

    The painting would benefit from a little restoration and in particular to the dark background seen above Nelsons right shoulder and extending up to the top left corner.

    Estimates for this are only £200-300 to refurbish all areas needing attention.

    Offers in the region of £3,995 are sought for this rare painting.
