      This is a vintage cased compass. An English, copper and bronze maritime navigation instrument, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1940. 

      • Of pleasing weight in the hand and appealing details
      • Displaying a desirable aged patina throughout
      • Heavy copper and brass case with light polish presenting golden tones
      • Original glass dial and bright mirror plate to lid in good order
      • Hinged case lid with useful folding azimuth sight to top
      • Clear 60mm (2.25") dial displays cardinal directions with an annotated arrow needle
      • Compass needle delightfully crowned with a small blue jewel
      • Fully adjustable mechanism with two internal bubble levels, rotating by brass lever to rear
      • Larger folding sight for observing sunlight with viewing window within the case lid
      • Needle secured for transit with internal lever mechanism, activating upon lid closure
      • Engraved to lid for Stanley of London and with the Naval 'broadarrow' device, dated to 1941

      This is a pleasingly heavy vintage cased compass, with appealing details for the enthusiast or collector of navigational instruments. Delivered polished and ready to display or enjoy.

      This is an antique jardiniere stand. A Japanese, bronze planter stand or side table, dating to the Edo period, circa 1850. 

      • Wonderfully ornate jardiniere stand with strong antique Japanese taste
      • Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
      • Strikingly tapered bronze presents pleasingly weathered tones
      • Decorated with finely detailed dragon and crane relief
      • Encircling the lower half, the long, sinuous dragon enhanced with detailed scales
      • Generously sized top finished with a chased vine motif of scrolled forms

      This is a superb antique jardiniere stand, ideally suited to collectors of Japanese period furniture. From the late Edo period (1603-1868), this planter stand or side table will enhance any room and offer a striking accompaniment. Delivered polished and ready to enjoy.

      This is a petite vintage tapestry. A French, needlepoint scene depicting The Lady and the Unicorn, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1980. 

      Of compact proportion, this tapestry is a quality recreation of the 15th century renaissance series of tapestries known as Dame a la L'icorne (The Lady and the Unicorn). A series of six, this fascinating tapestry represents the final element of the whole - A Mon Seul Desir (To My Sole Desire).

      • Ideally suited to decorative wall mounting or smaller spaces at 60cm x 47cm (23.5" x 18.5")
      • Displaying a desirably aged patina and in good order
      • Quality needlepoint tapestry, with copious decorative fascinations
      • Beautiful colour palette in shades of reds and greens a sight to behold
      • The lady and her courtier stand between a lion and the titular unicorn
      • The only piece in the series to feature a tent, bearing the motto 'A Mon Seul Desir'
      • Large fruiting trees, framed by heraldic flags standing in a bountiful garden
      • Other small animals are present, including dogs, a monkey and a small rabbit
      • Label to rear for Tapisseries du Lion and presents key details of the piece in French and English
