Circa 1870, stylish neat sized faux marble and gilded hall table in the manner of William Kent. The table with its rectangular faux scagliola top over a stylish Greek key frieze, which is unusually deep. In the centre there is the carved gilt face of a lady with plumes as a headdress. Beneath her chin there is a foliate carving with open fretwork. The whole piece stands on four well carved stylish cabriole legs with foliate carving on the quarter blocks. At the tops of the legs there is carved acanthus leaves which wrap around both sides. As the leg moves down towards the end there is carved scaling on both sides, finishing on very stylish hairy paw feet. Great style and quality.
