Unique oportunity to acquire a 100% genuine Ancient Celtic Warrior's Broadsword, complete with its original scabbard. Most examples of these swords with scabbards intact are in national museums or important private collections. Condition of sword is excellent for its geat age with just about all of the blade and scabbard remaining. Hilt style of typical La Tene form and comprising bronze mounts. Blade of large and wide proportions - blade width of around two inches. Scabbard appears to be made of iron and is in excellent shape. Have not attempted to put sword in scabbard and believe that it would be unwise to do so for a piece of such antiquity. Alongside, they would make a superb disply piece. The sword probably dates to around 200BC and would have been carried throughout the early Roman period. Blade length is 31 inches (37 inches overall). I am happy to provide a lifetime guarantee of authenticity for this sword - comparable examples rarely come onto the market and this sword is very competitively priced when compared to others that have previously sold. I do have much larger versions of these pics e.g. over 1MB each so please let me know if you want them e-mailed to you. Note: Shipping is more expensive on this piece because of increased insurance liability.
