Cernunnos (Celtic: “Horned One”) was an archaic and powerful deity, widely worshipped as the “Lord of Wild Things”, “God of the Forests”, "Ruler of Nature" &al. Cernunnos was worshipped, primarily in Britain, as far back as at least 400 BCE.
Circa 100 BCE, this well preserved and fully wearable bronze ring, from humanity's Iron Age, depicts the horned god on its bezel, with decorated metalwork shoulders and a plain shank. The shank has a non-circular shape from the two millenniums it waited to be found, but it is still wearable.
    Size O UK/AU, 7 US/CA, 55¼ FR/RU, 17¼ DE
Size Note: Due to the irregular shape of the band this ring measures between an M and a P½, but fits with the feel of an O.
Authenticity: This ring is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity from an established ancient artefact gallery in central London. The gallery is the official partner and representative of Ralf Kotalla German authenticity Laboratory in the UK and the document is signed by their lead expert with a PhD in Archaeology.
Provenance: Formerly in the possession of a London gallery, formerly in a collection formed in the 1980s on the UK art market.
Important Notes: This item is excluded from our Free Resizing service. As an ancient artefact we will not alter it.
