    Very attractive Edwardian /early twentieth century silver plated teapot by Elkington & Co, 1912.

     
    The teapot's fine design and beautiful execution has many form elements; its rectangular shape is raised on ball feet and has a bellied body and ebonised / ebony handle. The the top of the teapot has a gadroon edge decoration and a domed lid with finial.
     
    The Elkingon & co company was located in Birmingham and filed the first patent on commercial electroplating by 1840. This teapot truly is a piece of British heritage.
     
    Condition: Mild discoloring of the silver outside, heavier discoloring on the interior. Some fine scratched and a damaged 'curl' on the handle (see photo). Silver plate in good condition and no dents. Overall, very attractive condition.
