This is a beautifully constructed fine early 19th century (dated 1820) oil on canvas depicting a teenage boy head aloft drinking from an ern. The light contrast, depth and detail of the work sets it apart from most studies of the period. This is a must for any collector of classically constructed period art. Although little is known about the artist the quality stands it out from the others. Overall good condition for age but does have a very small hole on canvas below the boys right foot. The painting measures 61.5 cm x 46 cm unframed and 79 cm x 65 cm framed. If you live outside the UK or EU please email for shipping cost.
