Original Antique French Ormolu & Slate Mantel Clock

This is your chance to own the most beautiful early 19th century French figural mantel clock. The clock is made of bronze ormolu and features a charming figure group of a victorious European King rising from the battlefield. The molding is very fine with super detail down to the ormolu Axe on the floor near his feet! It has a lovely finish and the clock has a good quality brass 8 day movement which strikes on a bell.Case

- Beautiful figure on top of a European KingDial- The porcelain dial features black Roman numerals and steel cut hands
- Two winding holes for the two trains of the movementMovement
- Brass French 8 day striking movement
- Bears a gold medal stamp, awarded to the French clockmaker Japy Freres
- These were awarded during the first half of the 19th Century so definitely dates the clock to pre 1855
- This is a striking clock and strikes the half and counts the hour
- Movement will run for approximately 8 days when fully wound
- Clock has a good action and keeps good time
